"Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night!"

Another Christmas has been and gone in the blink of an eye. I hope you were on the nice list like me! Outfit for Christmas day was suitably festive (i.e. sparkly!)

Although I have been nice this year (practically perfect actually!) I did venture out on Christmas Eve for a few drinks before Santa brought me home:

And so the plans for New Year's Eve rage on. Here is one of my party planning outfits:

Get ready for some serious showbiz glamour on the night!

Tuesday 22 December 2009

"Someone left the cake out in the rain . . ."

With this crazy weather anything is possible! The references to Priscilla have been coming in thick and fast recently ( ref to MacArthur Park in Corrie, saw the theatre on Sunday and bought the DVD in Tesco yesterday) which, in my book is no bad thing!

So we celebrated the ma's birthday in style on Sunday by a trip to London (another one yay!) where we ate some gorgeous veggie food (courtesy of Yotam Ottolenghi) had afternoon tea at Fortnum and Mason's and saw Matthew Bourne's production of Swan Lake. A fantastic day was had by all. My outfit for the occasion was sparkly and chic:

Friday 18 December 2009

"On the road again!"

Whilst my demure driving ensembles have not been documented I felt that this new tee had to be included:

The sequin jacket was a clear hit so it has been taken out again:

My feet were looking fashionable too in these cut out studded shoes:

The cogs are already in motion for Christmas and New Year's Eve outfits so expect serious sparkle!

"Deja Vu?"

So some of my new purchases have been getting an outing recently and have featured in more than one outfit:

The return of the necklace:

And the flowery shift dress accompanied by a cream sequin jacket:

Thursday 10 December 2009

"Tis the season . . . "

. . . to wear as many sparkles as you can! Even in the daytime:

I actually wore this outfit to the cinema to see The Nativity which provided Christmas cheer early in December. The necklace is a Christmas present I have been allowed to have early:

Thursday 19 November 2009

"I am what I am!"

According to Mr Barrowman anyway, who I saw last night performing a rousing version of the song! Sat in the 5th row the view was amazing and close enough to feel part of the real show at times! I did however miss out on pics with him and the dreamy Zac Efron (attending the premiere of Me and Orsen Wells at Leicester Sq) but such is life, you can't do everything. Lunch at Eat and Two Veg resulted in star gazing (David Walliams and Matt Lucas) whilst a trip to the Tate offered a taste of "Pop Life" in a material world.

Recent outfits have featured a grey blazer which has returned to favour. Style is quite reminisent of "The Hills" and "The City" which must be seeping into my brain!

Working the blazer night:

And day:

Friday 13 November 2009

"Hello? Can you help me?"

What a shocker! Just realised that it has been almost 3 months since my last post! oopsie that is not good! Well quick update: got my uni results: got a B for the dissertation! and then got my degree mark: 2.1!! Woohoo! All was good until I started looking for a job and found that it is not as easy as I thought. Apparently you need years of experience to answer phones and photocopy! Ludicrious! So am in the midst of the unemployed looking for work.

In other news the laptop is no more, it finally packed in last month so I am now using my ultra cool Sony Vaio Fiery red laptop! Alas due to my lack of computer geekiness most of my old data has not been transferred so am waiting on that and then it will be complete!

In outfit news the bitter winter weather has brought out the boots and jumpers (80's batwing and jewel tones) but also mini dresses:

And the dress theme continued at Halloweeeeeeen!

Dressed as a rather glamorous cat!

Wednesday 26 August 2009

"And breathe . . . ."

So the dissertation is finally over! It was printed, bound and handed in on Monday a few hours before the deadline! phew! What a relief it's over and my holiday can begin! I felt that a commemorative photo was needed:

Looking very casual country chic with my gingham dress, but gold popping accessories (pumps, bangle) and accompanied by my green eyed dog brooch. The completion of the diss means that I can finally tidy (and clean) my room and start the renovation process.

Also have to mention a certain incident that was wedged inbetween last week and this, the birthday. Thankfully the weather stayed nice for my af
ternoon soiree with family and then dinner and cocktails in town. The country/1950's theme started with a blue gingham dress:

After which, a quick outfit change into a fitted coral applique dress with origami detailing:

So a succession of 1950's outfits that wouldn't look out of place on the Mad Men set! And I can't let the birthday posting pass without mentionning my amazing "Ace of Cakes" cake, made by my lovely mummy and sister! A true masterpiece:

Two little ducks for my 22nd birthday, daredevil ducks hanging off wires and Geof, my frog prince.

Monday 17 August 2009

"It's my party and I'll cry if I want to!"

This might be the case if the dissertation is not finished by the weekend! But my tutor is back (and answering my many questions) so hopefully it will be done by the time my Birthday rolls around on Saturday! Another year older and so much wiser, well maybe not.

Tuesday 4 August 2009

The only way is up!

Here's hoping anyway! the dissertation is still ongoing which is restricting my movements but have been out of the house. . . . . . . to have driving lessons! oh the perils of being on the road, well for other drivers anyway! Seems to be going well, especially the manoeuvres like reversing and parking!

Attended belated birthday celebrations for a friend at the weekend and the sequin dress got another outing, mostly due to how comfy it is (and of course how gorgeous it is!)

(sequin dress, ruched leggings, block heels, coral bangles)

Friday 10 July 2009

So .....

........ am still housebound finishing my dissertation and degree which means the loungewear is still on bar a few summery outfits when I do venture out. Mostly print tops and dresses with jewel accessories. Am planning some outings so will try to capture them.

Monday 29 June 2009

Note to self: must try harder!

Yet again the blog has been neglected! Mostly because not much has happened but also due to a lack of documenting which I will endevour to correct!

Anyway I have got bits to upload, mostly the visit to my sister in Norwich where we saw the Saturdays!

(Flowery blouse, mustard bf top, blue skinnies)

There are loads of pics from the Saturdays on fb plus my outfit which was in homage to the girls sparkly ensembles:

(pictured with the sis: 80's flower sequin dress, leggings, gold pumps)

I have made some purchases recently and have managed to avoid looking like I stepped out of the 80's, eventhough I love the decade. They will be posted in due course. As I am still completing uni work at home the outfits are a range of loungewear which is not very exciting, but if I do venture outside I will ensure I take a photo!

Sunday 24 May 2009

Oh the pain!

So the plan to start work has been postponed while I uploaded pics from last night and tagged etc. and thought I should post so I don't get a massive back log like I usually do!

Well I managed to have a break from uni work and met my friend Lauren in London on Friday for the usual culture and shopping trip! The obligatory trip to the Tate resulted in me doing exercise of sorts, balancing on boards and hiking up a wooden slope with a rope! It was all rather fun though and I got lots of lovely new things for my wardrobe which will be pictured very shortly as I am very eager to wear them all! ha ha ha!

Friday:

(coral frill blouse, red bf cardigan, nautical blazer, navy skinnies, white pumps)

The reason I am posting so late in the day is because I went to bed rather late last night after dancing my socks off in town! The cocktails were flowing and there were a few good songs. I decided to wear one of my new purchases:

(black cardigan, sequin cap sleeve dress, ankle length leggings, selection of bangles)

Lots of sparkle, just what I like! It was a fun night except for me falling down and grazing both my knees! Oh the pain! and just as the weather is improving. . .

Wednesday 20 May 2009

Up and running again!

Yay! just managed to FINALLY upload some pics from last month in Norwich, visiting the sis. Bloody facebook wouldn't let me upload the software but it all seems fine now! Check them out here!

So had a break from uni assignments yesterday and went up to my old high school for a concert given by the band and visiting german students. The outfit looked like an 80's jumpsuit but was in fact black ruched peg leg/hareem pants and a sheer blouse and waist belt:

The trousers, which you can't see in the pic:

They don't look much on the hanger but look brilliant on and are so comfortable!

Another recent purchase was a lovely 60's coral mix dress with origami detailing, see it here!

Monday 18 May 2009

Good things to come . . . .

I am actually shocked and appalled at how long it has been since my last post! Unfortunately work has taken me over and I am looking rather deshevilled as a result. I will be out and about this weekend so will endevour to post pics and get back on track!

Plus I have ordered a mountain of clothes online so will be able to post pics of my purchases when they arrive! Among them are various pairs of peg leg trousers, a new fav! They remind me of 1950's cigarette pants so will be teaming them with cute little cardigans and pumps for summer.

Sunday 26 April 2009

And so . . . .

The illness rages on, the latest addition is tonsillitus! Cue another trip to the doctors and countless pills to be taken at regular intervals! The funniest bit was when the doctor said "now take it easy and get lots of rest" after sitting on the sofa for over 2 weeks I think I have been taking it rather easy! Just hoping that it is nearing the end now, although I am yet to run out of DVDs to watch. Currently I am making my way through The House of Eliott and still marvelling at the glorious fashion and period scenery.

Friday 10 April 2009

One takes a trip. . . .

. . . . to the seaside actually and that was at the weekend! I went with mum to pick up the sis from uni and as the weather was passable as summer we ventured to the coast for some sea air! It was all very enjoyable apart from the blustery winds which picked up during the day, leading to a very windswept hairdo!

The main of this week has been spent in bed or melingering on the sofa due to illness. I managed to injure my back last week doing some 'spring cleaning' (i.e. scrubbing all the kitchen cupboards and moving furniture) which resulted in me hobbling around like an old lady all week! Add to that a pounding headache and general illness and it has been a rubbish time. On the upside I have found countless episodes of 'Goodnight Sweetheart' to keep me happy!

Thursday 2 April 2009

Trip to Londonia

Typical, typical! I blog everyday when nothing remotely exciting is happening and then as soon as it does I don't manage to post it! grr! well I will try to keep it going!

Well I was in le capital yesterday to meet a friend, a local infact who took me to all the cool places in the city (vintage shops!) and at one point, where we happened to see a certain T4 presenter looking very nonchalent walking down the road. Anyway I did manage to get a few items which will be snapped in due course. On our travels we ended up outside RBS but I am sad to report that the level of action was practically non existent, in the riot sense anyway!

My outfit:

(navy tea dress, skinnies, coral necklace, gold bangles)

Monday 30 March 2009

Home Sweet Home

Well I finally made it home and without having to click my shoes 3 times! Although that might have worked seeing as they are red! Anyway have been a busy bee since I got back, unpacking etc and with that finished it's down to work!

The weekend's outfits:

(Ruffle blouse, red bf cardigan, Scottie dog brooch)

Thursday 26 March 2009

This is what happens when I have to get dressed in a hurry. . . . . .

Had to post this as I thought it was rather comical (quite literally!) I only had 5 minutes to get dressed this afternoon after deciding to attend the lecture instead of watching The Rocky Horror Show! Seriously what was I thinking?! So in that rush I had to change my outfit from this morning and in the end I left looking like a cross between a clown and rainbow brite! ha ha ha! It did seem to cheer everyone up so I guess that's good.

I tell you they have some weird articles on The Guardian, I mean take this for example: changing My Little Pony into film characters! Why would you do that? And that Edward Sissorhands one is seriously creepy!

D Day!

Just came back from my presentation which went very well I must say! The retro presentation got a good response as did the outfit choice:

(black jersey dress with silk frills, coral necklace, 60's inspired make up with lots of eyeliner!)

The look was actually quite 1920's with the monocrome and panelling and the swirl of the skirt! Plus I went tottering in on my t-bar shoes!

The other option which was considered:

( black chiffon dress with tulip skirt, rouched sleeves and slash neck, red beads)

I didn't post yesterday's outfit as I spent most of the day in my pjs getting everything ready, although I did wear my coral cardigan which gave me a look of Joan from Mad Men!

Tuesday 24 March 2009

An update of sorts!

Gosh can't believe it's been 5 days since I last posted! oops! so I need to do my outfit updates! Well another weekend was spent doing work for my innovation presentation and portfolio, I did manage to enjoy the weather from my window!

(flowery blouse, red cardigan, blue jeans)

(stripey top, tulip skirt, yellow earrings)

So that was the weekend, working lots of colour and keeping the outfits fitted!

Monday saw the rebellious side of me come out and I thought it was time for some Viv action:

(V W skull tee, tulip skirt, rose earrings)

Today was quite relaxed as I was "working from home" ha ha ha!

So that was rather random and quick as the work is still on the go! Will be trying out my presentation outfits tomorrow so those will be up! And will be at home next week so will have more action to report!

Thursday 19 March 2009

I AM GOING TO SEE THE SATURDAYS!

Yes that is right! My gorgeous little sis (love you sweetie!) got the tickets so I am there! With a load of 14year olds I might add! ha ha ha! But perhaps not as it is at her uni, UEA.

Honestly, just when you think you've got your head round something, someone throws a spanner in the works! In this case it was my lecturers today telling me that I have to write a profit and loss account and detail the staff structure of my organisation! And then it was define the strategy used for an event! Oh I was decidely miffed at all this information! But as ever my new mantra is in my mind; "Keep calm and carry on" so that is what I shall be doing, although I haven't even thought about the most important thing: what am I going to wear for my presentation next week?!!! The pressure is well and truely on!

There was one little ray of joy today and that was the weather, quite literally! I was out and about with no coat on and wearing my leopard print pumps!

(Coral ruffled top, stripy cardigan, tulip skirt, waist belt)

Wednesday 18 March 2009

Keep calm and carry on!

In times of crisis we turn to the past for comfort and inspiration, and the credit crisis is no different! In recent months wartime posters have appeared in shop windows urging people to "Keep calm and carry on" a slogan that was used to keep peoples' spirits up during the war. The Guardian has captured pics of the poster in action. With that in mind my outfit today was 1940's wartime chic, even my hair was pinned back ready for work!

(Flower print dress with coral buttons, bf grey cardigan, pearls, rose earrings)

Tuesday 17 March 2009

Has summer arrived?

So another weekend came and went with relatively no excitement, spent most of it doing the usual uni work and planning my easter holiday!! Can't believe it's nearly here! And I will be able to wear my new falsies and go out partying!

Yesterday actually felt like summer! It was really warm and sunny, so much so that I managed to wear my flats to uni in the afternoon! Oh what joy to let my feet be free! My outfit was 50's kitch:

(Brown plaid dress, pink ruffle cardigan, flower and pearl bracelets)

Friday 13 March 2009

What's occuring pussycat?

What a random day! Friday the 13th (ooooo scary!) and Comic Relief (Do something funny for money!) The upside is that the T.V will be getting some serious use tonight! will be flipping between CR (waiting for Bryn and Nessa!) and Corrie as it's finally Steve and Becky's wedding! Oh the excitement, well not much actually as I already read the spoilers so I know what happens! mwah ha ha! Well at least its something worth watching, unlike last night!! What was that all about?! I was in a bad mood anyway, having been told that I missed Gok's 'Fashion Fix' being filmed in Birmingham! coupled with a crappy day's lectures! (seriously what's the point?) so I ended up watching 'Sixteen Candles' to make me feel better.

As I failed to post yesterday I've got two outfit posts to do, so yesterday:

(Print tunic top, coral bangles, pearls)

I have been wearing my skinnies a lot due to the cold weather! Can't believe it's still like winter when it should be the middle of spring! Am contemplating getting another pair of boots to keep me warm!

Today's outfit:

(Spotty print top and an overload of accessories! pearls, red bead necklace, heart bracelet)

I am finding that at the moment I am looking quite 80's with my skinnies and red pixie style boots. Think it's also due to the cold weather! Roll on summer and 1950's dresses and pumps!

Wednesday 11 March 2009

IT HAS ARRIVED!!!

. . . . . . . my new camera that is! have spent the afternoon figuring out how to use the timer to take better pics and I finally managed it! Woo hoo!

(Wearing my Wiz tee, red cardigan, grey tulip skirt, stripy leggings, pearl earrings)

Also took some pics of my room:

(My messy desk!)

( My fashion pinboard and clothing rail)

Tuesday 10 March 2009

Love for 'Love'

Finally used my Christmas voucher for WHSmiths and bought the 1st issue of 'Love' magazine! Was persuaded by Beth on the cover and all the style icons:

It is pretty hefty so will be my bedtime reading and more research for my dissertation! Some gorgeous pics of Ms Ditto baring all:

Dame Edna stylee!

Am very excited today as I collected my glasses! Here they are:

Am in love with them! Very 1940's/50's but also got a look of Dame Edna!

My outfit turned out to be quite dressy today, not my intention believe me!

(Left: Frilly blouse, tuxeudo style cardigan, gold bracelets)

(Right: Covering up with my flowery mac and silver brooch)
