"I'm in the money, I'm in the money"

Another hot and sticky day in the office with some relief from the fans. Big news last night as I found out that I had been paid! More money for shoes! Yay! Beautiful shoes like my new sandals, which I wore today:

Down with da kids

Out and about today meeting members of the partnership group and then young peeps at an outreach programme, which was very rewarding. It definately puts my job into perspective and the project I am working on now.

My outfit ended up being pretty colourful today:

Feather headband: Accessorize

Earrings: Vintage

Cardigan: F+F

Floral top: Primark

"That's why I don't like Mondays"

Well this Monday anyway as I had to go to work when my body ached from all the hard work yesterday and I was so sleepy. Anywho I soldiered on like a trooper, looking very summery today in city shorts and my new sandals:

Pearls: Primark

Shirt: Dorothy Perkins

Shorts: F+F

Sandals: Dorothy Perkins

New shoe love

Featuring Nike kicks which were so not my style but am branching out and they were heavenly to wear yesterday running around at the Mela, like walking on a cloud. Plus they make me look well gansta.

In contrast today I wore these beauties from Dorothy Perkins:

Warning! Warning! You have been warned

Today was spent marshalling at the Loughborough Mela looking mighty fine in a high vis jacket and festival gear:

Sunnies: ASOS

Coral cardigan: M&S

High vis jacket: loaned from council

Patterned harem pants: New Look

Nike kicks: Office

What a scorcher!

A majorly hot weekend and was out in the sun which isn't good for me (or my pale skin). The layers were off and my fleshy skin was out. Saturday and Sunday was spent in town but for two completely different purposes. Saturday was shopping so my outfit was relaxed:

Necklace: Dorothy Perkins

Tunic: Dorothy Perkins

Leggings: Topshop

Horsing around

Today is the end of my work week and the start of another hectic weekend! Got builders coming round on Saturday morning to inspect our house for the new buyer and then Sunday is the Mela in Loughborough. Come and watch the East Side Kahani crew re-enact the fantastic Jai ho finale dance and enjoy! Hope to see you there!

I am blaming the hot weather for the lack of accessorising of late. I have got really bad heat rash on my arms so no wearing bracelets or bangles that will aggravate it. Decided to wear lots of horses to make up for it:

Dress: Dorothy Perkins

Belt: H&M

Leggings: F+F

Pumps: New Look

"We're having a heatwave"

Or so it would seem! I was boiling before I even left the house this morning and apparently it will continue for the rest of the week! Just hope it stays until Sunday, when the East Side Kahani crew will once more take to the stage and perform!

Decided it was time for shorts this morning. Shorts and short sleeves:

Earrings: River Island

Shirt: New Look

Print top: New Look

Necklaces: New Look and vintage

Shorts: F+F

Shoes: River Island

No more leggings?! Say it ain't so!

So apparently leggings already went out of fashion and are now a drain on your wallet and society, what with the chavs and chavnots all wearing them. Like with most fashion trends once the plebs are wearing them they are condemned, but surely that's the point? To make any money out of the fashion biz they have to peddle clothing that sells.

Well all I have to say (now that the shock has worn off!) is that you will be prising those leggings out of my cold, dead hands before I give them up!

Seriously, how did we live without them?

And to make my point I give you today's outfit, complete with leggings:

Tee: H&M

Belt: River Island

Skirt: Primark

Bracelet: Miss Selfridge

Leggings: Yours

Socks: Topshop

Brogues: Primark

Summer breeze

The hot weather started up again today and is intending on carrying on until the weekend so I'm told. Cue short layers and leggings:

"Do you take this man?"

The day of the wedding dawned with overcast clouds and serious gusts of wind! A rather cold day, especially for the bride and bridesmaids who were wearing strapless dresses. The service was rather long and spiritual for my liking (plus the church was freezing) but the day picked up with a lovely dinner, accompanied by lively entertainment thanks to guests at our table, and dancing! The Ansari ladies were looking very dapper for the day and here we are (me,mama and sis):

Last chance saloon

We eventually arrived in Hull on Friday afternoon with a car boot full to bursting with outfits and unessessary items as it turned out! Not much time to relax as we went off to meet the bridal party in Chiquito's for a lovely dinner. Our personal wedding presents were well recieved and a welcome change from the glass crystal and other sentimental gifts.

In my attempt to travel light I actually forgot to take some nice cardigans for the cool weather. I had to improvise with my lace jacket:

"In the event of a fire"

Don't ask me! Spent the whole of today being bombarded with Health and Safety information so my brain is completely fried now. At least it's the end of my work week.

Now that I'm a working girl I am trying not to wear dresses everyday for work and attempt to mix it up and keep my look "fresh". Today's outfit was a nod to Grease and those Pink Ladies:

Dress: River Island

Tee: H&M

Jai ho: aftermath

Am really pleased to say that we got amazing feedback from friends and family who came to the show last night! Everyone said how good it was and commented on costumes, acting, dancing etc. There were even a couple of people who said it was thought provoking and they discussed it on the way home! What a compliment! We obviously did our job!
Spent most of today trying not to fall asleep at my desk and stop yawning but it was a challenge. Eventhough the show finished relatively early last night by the time I had helped pack up and load and unload the car at home (and post!) it was late. What made it even worse was that I had to finish writing my report today and not get distracted (which is hard when you are tired!). I made it through the day and there was some relief at lunchtime when I met up with friends and enjoyed lunch in the sunshine, and one of the good things about working in Leicester.

Outfit choice was quick this morning as I had to be ready on time for the ma. Decided on colour and the super comfy ridged leggings:

Sunnies: F+F

Cardigan:F+F

Horse brooch: River Island (actually from the dress)

Leggings: F+F

Bag: ASOS

The end of Jai ho!

After months of hard work, blood, sweat and some tears East Side Kahani came to the Loughborough Town Hall. It was a success! Admittedly there were a few hiccups and it wasn't perfect but we did our best! Not so much an outfit post tonight, rather a snippet of me backstage:

Feel the love

For my new jacket! I've been looking for a thin jacket that could be worn casually or dressed up and found this beauty in H&M last week:

Lace jacket: H&M

Long shirt: Evans

Belt: H&M

Jeggings: Dorothy Perkins

Bop to the top!

After all the action last night I forgot to post my outfit! On the first day at work I asked them about dress code and they said "use your initiative, not jeans, dressy for visits". They also said that they might bad an eyelid if I turned up in fancy dress. . . . . . . well I am a fancy dresser so whatevs! A quick change yesterday saw my wearing a blue dress that I now think does resemble the one worn by Sharpay in HSM for the number "Bop to the top"? See what you think here and then look at this:

Maybe not quite as ruffly or sequined (which is a shame) but there is a slight resemblence I think.

Cardigan: Topshop

Necklaces: New Look and vintage

Half way

It's officially mid week and I'm flagging. Just had another rehearsal for the show, only 6 days to go until curtain up! This showbiz lark sure is hard work! It's not all singing and dancing you know!

The unpredictable British weather had me all confused today, what with the rain and then sunshine and the warmth and then more rain and black clouds! Yikes! Decided to layer and wear tights:

Cardigan: Dorothy Perkins

Stripy tee: Peacocks

Necklaces: Primark and sister's Mardi Gras party beads

Skirt: Primark

Tights: F+F

Shoes: Schuh

Jai ho: the week before

That's right! This time next week it will all be over, the blood, sweat and tears. Had a productive rehearsal tonight and it seems to be coming together! There was some rushing around, as I fear there will be for the rest of week as I actually have to work during the day and then come home and go to rehearsals! Heaven forbid! I was also not as early as I had hoped as I went to a conference this afternoon with the boss. My concern about dressing up was not warranted but I always like to look the part:

Another day, another dollar. . . . well pound. The weekend came and went in a flash and Monday rolls round again. To take the edge off I put on my new dress (check out that print!). See it here and here:

Liza in the city

Narrowly escaped an attack tonight by two cats, a fox and a badger whom I saw parading accross the front gardens on our street! Had to make a run for it and thankfully remain intact.

Got around to seeing the new SATC film and I was pleasantly surprised! More laughs and storyline than I expected due to the bad reviews that slated it. Admittedly it isn't going to win any awards for best sreenplay or storyline but it was enjoyable and that's the main thing, as films are an escape from everyday life and a method of relaxation you don't always want to be bombarded with a complicated plot and heavy storyline to follow. And I have to say that the appearance of a certain performer was a real treat!
The hot weather this week has forced me to bare flesh (i.e. my legs and arms) in order to attempt to stay cool. Thankfully the cinema was airconditioned so I didn't sweat with the humidity and managed to stay cool in my outfit:

Earrings: Accessorize

Cardigan: New Look

Young girl

Am exhausted after a 3hr rehearsal tonight to run the whole show. Very ropey but getting there and in a couple of weeks it will all be over!

Ended up looking very Lolita-esque today with the pigtails and flowery top:

Cardigan: Warehouse

Shorts: Dorothy Perkins

"Once upon a time. . . ."

Second day of training today: People Plus so basically equality and diversity in the workplace! Woo hoo! The highlight of the day? Being able to leave early! ha ha ha! As with most of the training it is pretty basic and self explanatory to those of us with half a brain.

A lot of my clothing has that element of fantasy in it (or fancy dress maybe!) so the necklace I wore today was perfect. It is a gold strand necklace with the words "Once upon a time" hanging. It's from Dorothy Perkins and you can see it here. Decided to get out the Viv tee and jazz it up:

Cardigan: F+F

Gold necklace: Dorothy Perkins

Pearls: vintage (Granny's)

Tee: Vivienne Westwood

"Are you havin' a laugh?"

Training today, corporate intro to the company eventhough I've already been there over a week. Such is the slow progress when working for the council. We did the usual ice breaker exercises and spent time talking about the One Leicester strategy and vision for the city. Managed to finish early which is always good as I'm still not used to the long days.

No dress code specified and thought I should dress up for training. Decided on monocrome but with graduating colours so white, pink, red:

"Say cheese!"

Had my photo taken for my ID badge today and it's not a bad pic thankfully! That's always a worry that you will have to live with a bad photo at work. Spent most of the morning emailing and collecting evaluation forms, then I did some top secret confidential work! ooooo!

Decided on an outfit over the weekend assuming the weather would be nice and sunny. Wrong! It was rainy and miserable but my outfit did feel like a ray of sunshine:

Shirt: Dorothy Perkins

Dress: Primark

Tights: F+F

Shoes: Office
