"A cock, in a frock, on a rock"

Think that just about sums up Priscilla, although it doesn't mention the dancing cc's and paintbrushes (in the musical, not the film) which are main features! Surprised the sis with a trip to London to see the show, accompanied by two of her friends which she didn't know about. Cue sreaming, squealing and general confusion. A fantastic day! Priscilla is all about the glitz and glam which, surprisingly, isn't difficult for me to do! ha ha ha:

"I can hear the bells . . . ."

The other Ansari is back home now (aka my sister Sophia) after the ma and me drove to Norwich to pick her up (and all her dirty washing!) and bring her home for the Easter hols, accompanied by lots of showtunes: Priscilla, Hairspray and 10CC to mix it up! We had another trip to Wagas (no 72 Yasai Katsu Curry please) and I got some shoes for my upcoming holiday: retro Nike trainers and woven flower print flats. Been saving my new face print top all week and today it was worn:

I am liking the fact that most Saturday nights are spent out and about. Means I have more outfit posts and the socialising is nice too. Went for the monocrome look this week:

"No actual Maltesers were hurt during the making of this bunny"

Just finished nibbling on a Malteser easter bunny, yum yum yum! Now got to stir myself to get ready to go out. Been a real life Cinderella today so time to go to the ball (well friend's house then town) and meet my Prince Charming (as if!) although I have started life better dressed:

"Jai ho: Part 3"

Big props to my superstar friend Richard who has become the first guy to join the dance troop for the show! He did a sterling performance for his first rehearsal! Another fun Friday night dancing my socks off and looking like a sweaty betty. Here I am giving you a sneak preview of some of the moves:

"Le geek c'est chic"

A mix between old style glamour and geek chic today while trying out my new spring trousers. Worn a bit prematurely as it did rain this afternoon but it was still warm. I'm excited to have found some that fit my womanly curves properly:

"Hello officer "

No arrest for me tonight, instead I was meeting some of the local bobbys at the launch of the Human Rights and Equalities Charnwood hate crime project headed up by the ma and her sidekick Justin. In true Nadia style I ended up acting as unofficial event organiser and moved furniture to set up displays and generally helped out. Fun but tiring. Thought that I should aim to dress more conservatively as the event was for networking and serious business:

"The sun'll come out tomorrow . . . . . . . "

Lack of postage this weekend due to sleep deprivation (totally self inflicted) and then crashing out last night, in bed for 8pm! Sunday is usually lie in day but not this time. The ma and me took a trip to Leicester amid sunny weather and the promise that spring is on it's way. With that in mind I broke open the summer shoes:

Here they are snapped in the lovely John Lewis carpark:

"If you pass go . . ."

Was out on Saturday night at a friends house for a games (and booze filled) evening which was fun although I thought the hosts might come to blows over a game of Monopoly but it was abandoned just in time . . . . I was unsure whether we would head into town so dressed up incase:

Jai Ho: Part 2

Just come back from another rehearsal for the show: the bollywood West Side Story! The prima donna of the group turned up tonight so will have to see if she manages to find her place or if I have to show her it. . . .

Outfit post is my workout clothing, not quite Fame complete with leg warmers but close:

Today's outfit was inspired by Chanel, hence the pearls, knitwear and flower headband. Actually worn for bumming around the house and going to Tesco so not very glamorous:

Floraltastic!

No work today as my start date has been moved back due to teething problems. Means I can enjoy another week off before the reality of work sets in. I was able to sign back on at the job centre which is good as I can claim another two weeks benefit, more moeny to put towards my working wardrobe!

Florals and more florals today, clashing prints which I thought worked well together:

"I once asked my mother if I was a gifted child . . . she said she certainly wouldn't have paid for me"

Happy Mothers Day to all the mummies out there! I managed to stay awake long enough to russle up a lunch of fajita's and other goodies and also not impail myself with the knife: ever so slightly hungover today. I was working my arse off (quite literally!) last night playing Just Dance on the Wii at a friends house, interspersed with drinking. We then headed into town and danced until the small hours. It was a great night, even if I nearly lost my shoe as it remained stuck to the ground as I went to walk off!

A trip to Tesco yesterday saw shoppers in a panic deciding on cards and (rather crappy looking, half dead) flowers. A sea of pink that I learnt to avoid at an early age when it comes to my mummy. Decided that I wanted to wear this tee (it says "Yeah Yeah Yeah" and at the bottom "Everyone needs a little panda_ing"):

"Jai ho!"

There would have been an outfit post today but I got all hot and bothered during dance rehearsal for a show I'm now doing so thought it wise not to subject anyone to that sight. In other news I practiced the drive to work for next week and it went ok, lots of roundabouts and dual carriageway driving so should be fine.

Bows, bows . . . . . . and more bows!

It was a total bow fest today with bow wallet, bow bag and trench coat with bow back:

Get back on the horse

Managed to add another snowy to the collection, however this one is on loan until snowy number 2 is fixed. Elvis thought it would be a good idea to get back in the car asap to prevent anxiety about driving after the accident. It went well and was actually surprised with myself.

Already started thinking about work outfits as I start my internship next week and need to be organised with all those early mornings! Have been saving some clothes and wearing more casual ensembles for the moment:

Tartan headband: unknown

"Just one of those things"

Poor, poor snowy. She has been taken to the hospital after a minor mishap today. I oversteered into a sign/flower, brick wall monument thing today on my lesson. The bumper got pranged and the light knocked in but apart from that and a hissing radiator nothing else was damaged. I banged my knee and my collarbone against the seatbelt so am hobbling around but am glad that it wasn't more serious. Elvis was intact, albeit a bit shook up huh huh huh . . . .

A deeper shade of grey

All grey outfit today inspired by Susie Lau of Style Bubble blog fame, who is into layering but also wearing shades of the same colour. Thought my flamingoes deserved an outing so they went driving with me today:

Model behaviour

A very late night for me due to all of today's excitement! It was International Women's Day and I was celebrating with lots of other fabulous females! There was bollywood and morris dancing, african drumming, yummy samosas and gulab jamun's for dinner and energetic circle dancing with everyone. I also strutted my stuff down the catwalk for the fairtrade fashion show. The occasion called for lots of sparkle so out came granny's beaded top:

"Curiouser and curiouser"

Not quite falling down the rabbit hole but attempted to experience it for myself via 3D. Not excellent but some good performances (Johhny Depp always delivers) and CGI (namely the cheshire cat in various states). Personally I prefer the original Disney film, although was led to believe that this version focuses on the second film which led to confusion as it is not stated in the title as "Alice through the looking glass" rather it is "Alice in Wonderland".
However, it has been said that this title covers many adaptations of both stories and can be used for adaptations that do not strictly adhere to the book, what seems to have happened here. Tim Burton himself said that it is not a sequel nor a re-imagining, just his interpretation of the story; he wanted the events to link up and become more succinct.

There was no outfit post for yesterday as it was another pj and sweatpants day. Today was a different matter and I managed two (costume) changes. The first was for driving:

Sunglasses: ASOS

Pearls: vintage (Granny's)

Tee: Vivienne Westwood

Skirt: Primark

Tights: Tesco

"Have you heard the good news?"

No jesus doesn't want you for a sunbeam; the mama started her brand spanking new job today which means that she can no longer be chief photographer! This is actually bad news for me as I need to get a tripod to take photos or try out new positions for the camera like I did today (and promptly slipped down the stair!) Will have to get something sorted now that there are actual real life people reading this, not just relatives.

Practiced my country driving today, taking Elvis out for a spin along dual carriageways and around roundabouts. It was rather exhilarating being out on the open road in the sunshine, wearing my sunnies and embracing the warmer weather (hopefully!):

"It was on a starry night . . . . . "

Like this one that I braved the icy chill of the cold weather and went for a drink with friends. Our plan to frequent the local Open Mic night at the uni was quashed once we arrived and realised it was not on! As an alternative we decided to head into town for some delightful, yet weighty conversation and drinks.

Looked rather dressy for the job centre this morning but didn't care as it was to be the last sign in day! As usual the idea of me undertaking the internship was a complete mystery to them, eventhough I explained that practically all students do one in some shape or form to gain experience. Anyway that was that. Had a driving lesson this afternoon. I am learning that there is the BSM way and then there is the Elvis way . . . .

Also fitted in a trip to hairdressers so that I can see again:
